BOIL WATER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT
From 10th St SW to 19th St SW
On Ocean Beach Blvd ONLY

City of Long Beach – The City of Long Beach has experienced a main break with pressure loss. The City of Long Beach is advising all affected water customers (10th St SW to 19th St SW on Ocean Beach Blvd ONLY) to boil their drinking water until further notice. When water lines lose pressure, potentially harmful contaminants can enter the water system. Out of an abundance of caution, City staff determined it is in the best interest of public health and safety to issue the boil water advisory.
Customers outside of the affected service area are encouraged to run their water to clear any discoloration that may occur.
The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) has been notified. The City has made the necessary repairs and has restored the water service. Water samples are being analyzed and the boil water advisory will remain in effect until the results of the analysis are reviewed.
The boil water advisory includes several precautionary steps for customers. Water should come to a rolling boil for one minute, then cool to an appropriate temperature before using the water for drinking, brushing teeth, dishwashing, preparing food, and making ice.
The advisory will remain in effect until the City of Long Beach and DOH are confident the water is safe. The City is anticipating having test results Friday, February 9th. When satisfactory results are reported, customers will be notified that the advisory has been lifted.

Ciudad de Long Beach – La ciudad de Long Beach ha experimentado una ruptura principal con pérdida de presión. La ciudad de Long Beach está aconsejando a todos los clientes de agua afectados (10th St SW a 19th St SW en Ocean Beach Blvd SOLAMENTE) que hiervan su agua potable hasta nuevo aviso. Cuando las líneas de agua pierden presión, pueden ingresar contaminantes potencialmente dañinos al sistema de agua. Por precaución, el personal de la ciudad determinó que lo mejor para la salud y la seguridad públicas es emitir el aviso de hervir el agua.
Se recomienda a los clientes fuera del área de servicio afectada que dejen correr el agua para eliminar cualquier decoloración que pueda ocurrir.
Se ha notificado al Departamento de Salud del Estado de Washington (DOH). El ayuntamiento ha realizado las reparaciones necesarias y ha restablecido el servicio de agua. Se están analizando muestras de agua y la advertencia de hervir el agua permanecerá vigente hasta que se revisen los resultados del análisis.
El aviso de hervir el agua incluye varias medidas de precaución para los clientes. El agua debe hervir durante un minuto y luego enfriarse a una temperatura adecuada antes de usarla para beber, cepillarse los dientes, lavar platos, preparar alimentos y hacer hielo.
El aviso permanecerá vigente hasta que la ciudad de Long Beach y el DOH estén seguros de que el agua es segura. La Ciudad anticipa tener los resultados de las pruebas el viernes 9 de febrero. Cuando se informen resultados satisfactorios, se notificará a los clientes que se ha levantado el aviso.
